Local:
Stay on Upper Hibernia Road for 2.7 miles, (It turns into dirt road) to a large white gravel parking lot on left. This first parking area has access to the Beaver Pond Trail and the Wildlife Management Center.
A second lot is further down the dirt road where there is a brown sign with :
Wildcat Ridge WMA, Hawkwatch/Overlook Trail
You may park at either location.
The Tower Road and Orange Trail that lead to the Hawkwatch is located off the second parking lot. There are two yellow gates off this parking area, a square gate that blocks Upper Hibernia Road and a round gate, just past two white gate posts on the left, that leads to the hawkwatch. Enter by the round yellow gate to take the Orange blazed Trail (20-25 minute walk ) or go around the yellow gate and take the Tower Road (15-20 minute walk) following the telephone lines all the way. At about 3/4 mile up, you will see a large pile of stone (cairn) on the right. Turn there and that trail joins the orange trail in about 35 feet. See Trail map on this site.
